## How it works

1. Swipe right to keep a photo. It stays where it is and the next one appears.
2. Swipe left to move it to Swipr's Trash. Undo is one tap away.
3. Empty Trash when you are ready. Nothing leaves your photo library before that.

## Features

- **Swipe to sort.** One photo at a time: swipe right to keep it, left to move it to Swipr's Trash. Undo is one tap away.
- **Trash you control.** Nothing leaves your library until you empty Trash. Swipr asks you to review Trash after the number of days you choose (7, 14, 30, 60 or 90; 30 by default).
- **AI photo search.** Describe a scene, such as "sunset over the hills", and Swipr finds matching photos. It uses Google's open EmbeddingGemma 2 model (text and vision, 440M parameters), a one-time 388 MB download that runs entirely on the device.
- **Text in photos.** Find words in receipts, signs and screenshots with Apple's built-in text recognition. No download needed.
- **Video search.** Search inside videos by what they show, with the same on-device model.
- **Find similar.** Pick any photo and see the photos that look like it.
- **Duplicates.** Near-identical shots are grouped so you can keep the best one and move the rest to Trash.
- **Voice search, Siri and Shortcuts.** Speak a search, or say "Clean up photos in Swipr" or "Search photos in Swipr". Albums can be opened from Siri and found in Spotlight.
- **Albums.** Sort photos into albums as you go, or create smart albums that gather photos for you.
- **Daily goal and streaks.** Set a daily goal, keep a streak, and see how much storage you have freed.
- **Private by design.** Photos, search indexes and app data stay on the device. Swipr has no account and no server that stores photos.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is Swipr?

Swipr is a photo clean-up app for iPhone and iPad. It shows your photos one at a time: swipe right to keep a photo, swipe left to move it to Trash. Its on-device AI can also find photos by what they show, the text in them, or what looks similar, and group duplicates.

### Does Swipr upload my photos?

No. Swipr never uploads your photos. Sorting, AI search, text recognition and duplicate detection all run on your iPhone or iPad. The only download is the optional AI search model, and that request contains no photos or personal data.

### Are photos deleted as soon as I swipe left?

No. A left swipe moves the photo to Swipr's Trash, and you can undo it. Photos are only deleted when you empty Trash, and iOS then keeps them in Recently Deleted in the Photos app for 30 days.

### How does the AI photo search work?

When you turn on Pictures search, Swipr downloads Google's open EmbeddingGemma 2 model once (388 MB) and builds a search index on your device, by default only while it is charging. You then type or speak a description such as "dog on the beach" and Swipr shows the photos that match. Text in photos uses Apple's built-in text recognition and needs no download.

### Does the AI search need an internet connection?

Only once, to download the model. After that, indexing and searching work offline, on the device.

### How much does Swipr cost?

Swipr is free, with a few ads at natural pauses. Swipr Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that removes all ads. There is no subscription.

### Which devices does Swipr support?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later. The layout also adapts to the larger and foldable iPhone displays.

### Can I try Swipr without giving it access to my photos?

Yes. If you decline photo access, Swipr offers a set of sample photos so you can try swiping, Trash, albums and search. You can also give Swipr access to selected photos only.

### When is Swipr available?

Swipr is coming soon on the App Store.
