Privacy Policy
1. Information we do not collect
Swipr is designed with privacy in mind. We do not:
- Upload your photos to any server
- Access your photos without your explicit permission
- Share your photos with third parties
- Store personal information on our servers
2. Information stored locally
The following information is stored only on your device:
- App preferences and settings
- Album organization data
- Album names, indexed on your device so Siri and Spotlight can find your albums
- The photos you move to Trash, kept on your device until they are deleted or restored
3. Permissions we request
- Photo Library Access: Required to display and manage your photos
- Optional: Tracking (App Tracking Transparency): lets Google use your device's advertising identifier to personalise ads; you can decline it and still use every feature
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
Photo Search model:
- If you turn on Photo Search, Swipr downloads its on-device search model (about 400 MB) once from a download server; the request sends no photos or personal data, only what any download carries, such as your IP address
- All indexing and searching happens on your device
Google AdMob (ads by Google):
- The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, Google's mobile ad network
- Ads appear only at natural pauses in Clean Up and as one labelled item in Library
- Your photos, videos, albums and search index are never shared with Google or any advertiser
- Where the law requires it, Swipr asks for your consent through Google's consent form before any ad loads; you can change your choice in Settings › Swipr Pro › Ad privacy choices
- iOS asks whether Swipr may track you; Google uses your activity in other companies' apps and websites to choose ads only if you allow tracking, and you can change this in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking
- In the EEA and the UK, whether ads may be personalised is a separate choice you make in Google's consent form
- To show ads, Google's ad SDK may collect: your device's advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking), your IP address and approximate location, device and app information (model, iOS version, language), ad views and taps, and diagnostic data
- Google and its ad partners use this to show ads, personalise them where you agreed, measure them and prevent fraud; in the EEA and the UK, Google's consent form lists those partners
- How Google uses this information: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy
- You can manage the ads Google shows you in My Ad Center
- Swipr Pro, a one-time Apple In-App Purchase, removes all ads; Apple handles the payment and Swipr never sees your payment details
5. Data security
- Swipr itself keeps your photos and app data on your device; in the free version, Google's ad SDK collects the information listed in section 4
- We do not have access to your photos or personal data
- We recommend regular backups of your important photos
- Use device security features (passcode, biometrics) to protect your data
